Des notre arrivee a l'hotel, vers 7.30, on nous propose de participer a l'excursion pour Chavin de Huantar (6h de bus environ). Comme le site est ferme le lundi, nous prenons part a l'excursion apres le desayuno (petit dej). C'est le site eponyme de la culture Chavin, qui remonte au premier millenaire avant J.-C. C'est un grand temple avec de nombreux souterrains bien aeres.

Arrival at the hostel around 7.30, we could directly participate to an excursion to Chavin de Huantar (around 6 hours of bus). Because the site is closed on Mondays, we decide to go after the desayuno (breakfast). This is the site after which is named the Chavin culture, dated from the first millenium BC. It is a big temple with numerous subterraneans well climatised.
